I must first send a very sincere thank you to all my clients.  It is always hugely rewarding to know that someone, somewhere loves my work enough to give me a large sum of money for it. It also allows me to spend more time where I like to spend time, creating from the depth of my dark and messy workshop.

The bulk of my sales are normally to overseas clients, mostly in Europe and South East Asia and mostly from art galleries and art fairs. However, in recent months and due to the Covid situation, I have observed a distinct change in the pattern of my sales. I am now selling mostly to local New Zealand clients. This is probably since New Zealanders now unable to head overseas for their vacation are instead spending their disposable income on house renovation and decoration. I have also noticed a spectacular increase in my online sales. Most of my galleries have been closed for extended period of times during various confinements and all the Salons and Art fairs have been cancelled. Collectors have now no choice but to buy directly from the artist’s studio.

In any case and as you can see below, there is no pattern in selling art and no explanation for the unpredictability. You can sell nothing for weeks and suddenly sell 12 pieces in one month.
